School is back in full swing, y’all. (And while you’re free of them during the day) We have the perfect activity for you to do with your kids after school, and the best part is that it doubles as a yummy snack!

These aren’t just any rice cakes. These babies are decked out with healthy, delicious ingredients to create adorable animals that your kids will love! Plus, they’re so easy to make, your kids can do it themselves. Perfect for #NationalKidsTakeOvertheKitchenDay!

Ingredients:

  • Rice Cakes
  • Peanut Butter
  • Apples, sliced thin
  • Banana
  • Celery
  • Mini Pretzels
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Some mini booch to go with your mini snacks!

Directions:

FOR OWL RICE CAKES

  1. Spread peanut butter on the entire rice cake.
  2. Put two apple slices on either side of the rice cake to look like wings tucked in.
  3. Use two banana slices + two chocolate chips as eyes.
  4. Cut a piece of apple into a small triangle for the nose.
  5. Line chocolate chips between the owl’s wings to finish off the look!

FOR PUPPY RICE CAKES:

  1. Spread peanut butter on the entire rice cake.
  2. Place two apple slices on both sides of the top to simulate puppy dog ears.
  3. Use two banana places + two chocolate chips as eyes.
  4. Flip a pretzel upside down to use as a mouth.
  5. Use chocolate chips as the puppy’s nose in the middle.

Feel free to make these your own! You are welcome to use other toppings such as nuts, granola, jam, fresh berries, and more to create other adorable animals. Wash them down with a mini booch & you’ve got yourself the perfect afternoon snack.

And don’t forget to share your creations with us on social!
